We put up only one Pen Show Tray each month.

Please understand that putting a pen in your shopping cart does not secure that pen for you.
Someone could have the same pen(s) in their cart at the same time and if they complete the checkout process before you do, the pen will automatically fall out of your cart.

Pen Description
01  Carter's Coral Fountain Pen, Full Flex Extra Fine Nib
SOLD Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. Carter was known for their ink and for a few years around the depression made some exquisite pens. The coral is one of the most sought after and hard to find colors with clean celluloid. Produced around 1928/29 this is the slender standard model that is extremely hard to find. 14k Carter's Nix nib writes with a smooth 0.4mm line width and flexes to a 0.9mm. A real gem. Lever Filler. Pen Length: 51/16"(129mm) capped, 65/16"(160mm) posted. Price: $625.00
02 Conklin Rolled Gold Fountain Pen, Full Flex Fine Nib
SOLD Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. While known for their crescent fillers and Endura line, Conklin produced some of the nicest rolled gold pens from the 1920s. This model is from the mid 20s in what I think is their colonial design. This pattern is pretty uncommon and in beautiful condition. The 14k fine nib offers a line variation of 0.5mm to 1.4mm. Lever Filler. Pen Length: 429/32"(125mm) capped, 67/16"(164mm) posted. Price: $295.00
03 Conklin Endura Black & Bronze Fountain Pen, Extra Fine Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. One of the best colors Conklin came up with in their Endura line. This beautiful full flex 14K nib offers a line variation of 0.5mm to 1.2mm. Lever Filler. Length: 47/8" (124mm) capped, 63/8" (162mm) posted. Price: $295.00
04 Conklin Senior Sapphire Endura, Medium Nib
SOLD Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, or significant scratches. Considered one of the more prized pens in a collection. Finding these with good clean celluloid is not an easy task and this one is beautiful. The 14K nib offers a line width of 0.6mm. Lever Filler. Length: 5516"(135mm) capped, 634"(172mm) posted. Price: $550.00
05 Parker 241/2 BCHR Lucky Curve, Full Flex XXF Nib
SOLD Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. A wonderful early Parker from right around 1920. These beauties are getting harder to find and getting one that isn't oxidized is pretty neat. The fine 14K nib offers a line variation of 0.3mm to 0.9mm. Lever Filler. Length: 51/4" (133mm) capped, 67/16" (164mm) posted. Price: $195.00
06  Parker Mauve Pastel Lucky Curve, Broad Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. One of the more rare of the Lucky Curve line. These are getting extremely hard to find in this condition as they tend to discolor darker when not properly cared for. The 14K nib offers a line width of 0.8mm. Button Filler. Pen Length: 4516"(110mm) capped, 55/8"(143mm) posted. Price: $150.00
07 Parker Shadow Wave Grey Vacumatic, Fine Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. Normally I don't get too excited over a grey Shadow Wave but this one has a couple of things going for it. It is a first year pen made in the first quarter of 1938, and the pattern is very striking. Probably one of the nicest I have seen. The fine 14K nib offers a line width of 0.5mm. Vacumatic Filler. Pen Length: 47/8"(124mm) capped, 57/16"(137mm) posted. Price: $195.00
08 Parker Golden Pearl O/S Vacumatic DJ, Medium Nib
Condition: C. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. Oversized Vacs are getting harder to find. This one was personalized with Joe V Willams - Chattanooga Tenn. on the barrel. The Parker imprint is mostly worn away which made the date code no longer visible. This model was made between 1933 and 1937. There is a small groove around the barrel that does not affect its usability. Normally this would be a $550 or higher pen but because it is not perfect, we have bargain priced it as an everyday user. The smooth 14K nib offers a line width of 0.6mm. Vacumatic Filler. Pen Length: 55/16"(135mm) capped, 65/16"(160mm) posted. Price: $350.00
09 Parker Vacumatic Burgundy Pearl Standard Lockdown, Fine Nib
Condition: B. No brassing, chips, cracks, or significant scratches. The rarest of the Vacumatic colors. While the imprint is fairly worn at the date end, under a microscope it shows as 4Q1937 production. As with most of these, the barrel is hard to see through without a bright light. This is still a beautiful and rare pen that is priced right. The 14K nib offers a line width of 0.5mm. Vacumatic Filler. Pen Length: 5116"(129mm) capped, 52732"(149mm) posted. Price: $365.00
10 Parker Vacumatic Major Emerald Green, Medium Nib
SOLD Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. One of the most sought after colors of the Vacumatics. Produced in 4Q1943, this wartime Vac is a beauty. Slight ambering but still clear enough to see the breather tube inside when not filled. The 14K nib offers a line width of 0.4mm. Vacumatic Filler.  Pen Length: 5316"(132mm) capped, 578"(149mm) posted. Price: $195.00
11 Parker Vacumatic Major Golden Pearl, XXF Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, or significant scratches. This is one you don't see very often. The cap band on this one is the stacked coin version instead of the standard chevron band. Produced in the 1Q1945 this is a wonderful wartime pen.  The 14K nib offers a line width of 0.3mm.  Vacumatic Filler. Pen Length: 51/8" (138mm) capped, 529/32" (157mm) posted Price: $195.00
12 Parker Striped Duofold Green & Gold DJ, Fine Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. Another pleasant find. A beautiful pen from 3Q1941. This one is personalized with the name Hubert W. Mehciz which we easily found some good info on. The 14K nib puts down a 0.5mm line and has a slight left foot oblique to it. Vacumatic Filler. Pen Length: 5316"(143mm) capped, 61/16"(154mm) posted. Price: $135.00
13 Pelikan M200 Green Transparent, Broad Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. Don't let this one fool you. This was the first version of the green transparent produced in 1997. This was long before they decided to make these into a highlighter. It features a broad steel nib that produces of line width of 0.8mm. Piston Filler. Pen Length: 5"(127mm) capped, 53/4"(146mm) posted. Price: $135.00
14 Pilot Metal Falcon Sapphire, Soft Medium Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, or significant scratches. This is a sleeper and shouldn't last long. The original owner didn't like the heavier weight of the metal Falcon and decided to part with it. One important note on this pen is the converter. This one is sporting a CON-50 which is hard to find and expensive.  The soft-medium 14K nib offers a line width of 0.6mm.  Cartridge/Converter Filler. Pen Length: 57/16" (138mm) capped, 63/16" (157mm) posted Price: $225.00
15 Sheaffer Oversize Jade Flat-top, Extra Fine Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. A beautiful flat-top with good clean jade is a rarity and quite desirable. Many times you find these in an awful muddy green color because the pen wasn't taken care of. This beauty is a classic with a 14k nib that offers a line width of 0.4mm. Lever Filler. Pen Length: 55/16" (135mm) capped, 613/16" (173mm) posted. Price: $350.00
16 Sheaffer Oversize Black Flat-Top, Extra Fine Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. This Flat-Top was produced at the lines end of life when the Balance first came out. They lowered the placement of the clip and used the humpback clip that the new Balance pens used. A lovely pen you don't see in this configuration very often. Its 14k extra fine Lifetime nib offers a line width of 0.4mm. Lever Filler. Length: 51/4" (133mm) capped, 63/4" (172mm) posted. Price: $255.00

18 Sheaffer 5-30 Jade Green Balance, Medium Nib
Condition: B+. No brassing, chips, cracks, dings or significant scratches. Sheaffer offered several variations to their Balance line and the 5-30 was one of them. The 5-30 on the nib denotes the size of  #5 and 30 for the years of guarantee. The color on this one is fantastic and the clip location on this one tells us it is from 1929. It features a medium 14K 5-30 nib that produces of line width of 0.5mm. Lever Filler. Pen Length: 55/16"(135mm) capped, 531/32"(152mm) posted. Price: $295.00

We grade pens according to the following condition scale. Within a grade, we use + or – to indicate shades of variation; for example, a pen that is B+ falls into the B grade and shows so little use that it is only marginally not A2.

Condition Description
A1 “Mint” (uninked). Shows no signs of use.
A2 “Mint” (inked).& As for A1 but may have been dipped or inked.
N1 New Old Stock (NOS). Unsold dealer or manufacturer stock. Not dipped or inked but may show shop wear.
N2 New Old Stock (NOS). Same as N1 but may have been dipped.
B Excellent. All parts original and showing only very slight signs of use. Very slight surface scratching; very minor discoloration or brassing; crisp imprints; no significant dings.
C Fine. All parts original. Some discoloration and brassing; light or worn imprints; small dings to metal or scratching on plastic.
D Fair. Some parts possibly not original; significant brassing or discoloration; very worn imprints; dings and scratches. Maybe a good writing pen or usable for parts.

All of our tray pens are fully restored to good writing condition unless otherwise noted. By “good writing condition” is meant, in addition to proper function, that nibs are aligned, set for reasonable flow, and not scratchy. Particularly nice writers are so noted in their descriptions.

Except for pens that are described as being in “mint” or NOS condition, these are used pens. We guarantee all of our restoration work (resacing, nib adjustments, etc.), and we ship the pens in good working order. However, they are still used pens, and we cannot make the same guarantees against defects or for length of life that their manufacturers made (such as Sheaffer's Lifetime guarantee).

CAUTION
Empirical evidence collected over several years has made it clear that some Noodler’s inks can and will destroy pens. Many vintage pens, because of the materials of which they are made, are especially susceptible to destruction by these inks. For this reason, our guarantee is void if a pen you purchase from us fails after you have used any Noodler’s ink in it. For more information, read our article on inks.
